It's always been one of my favorite horror films from the early 2000s, hands down, I loved the cast, the eerie atmosphere is throughout the film from start to finish. Loved the soundtrack from Low and tomandandy, the score in the opening scene really sets up the mysterious atmosphere & ominous tone throughout the film. It's a real hidden gem of a film, it didn't get talked about much when it came out but everyone that I've shown it too really enjoyed it. I'm always surprised that this film doesn't get talked about as much, it had a great cast of actors, Richard Gere, Will Patton, Laura Linney, Debra Messing, David Eigenberg, Lucinda Jenney and the late Alan Bates were all quite good in this. I think that this film has possibly the best acting I've ever saw from Gere, Patton & Messing as well and I've been a longtime fan of theirs. There are also some very good quotes in it, many of them from Bates' character but I loved these from Indrid Cold: "Still more proof, John Klein?", "Chaaaap, chap stick.", "Wake up, Number 37.", "Great Tragedy on the River Ohio." I really loved the scenes where Gordon tells John about meeting Indrid Cold & the voice calling out to him from the sink and Connie telling him about her dream. Top notch acting from Patton & Linney, really loved their performances in this. There's alot of eerie scenes that creeped me out in this like: the mirror scene, seeing his dead wife in the hotel room, Gordon's last call & the scene where the expert tells Gere that voice on the phone wasn't coming from human vocal cords. I never saw the ending coming, it caught me offguard but it's a pretty intense scene. It's definitely a film that I never get tired of rewatching. What did you think of this film? Did it scare you or creep you out? If so, which scenes in particular? Did the Indrid Cold character creep you out? What did you think of the twists & the performances in the film? via /r/movies https://ift.tt/31BXpFP
