I really love alien movies that focus more on the discovery of aliens than the aliens themselves

Movies for example: The Abyss, Sphere, Close Encounters of the Third Kind and somewhat Arrival. The majority of the movie Prometheus I’d also put in this category. These are movies where all the drama is about the discovery of the aliens, not so much what the aliens themselves do. The aliens act almost more as objects than subjects of the movie. Like more like the Ark in Indiana Jones than the Nazis.
