Gore Verbinski's Rango (2011) is ingenious.

Not exactly sure what this film is supposed to be but it's fucking fantastic nonetheless.Some sort of spaghetti-western/adventure/comedy hybrid; it blends all these genres and hits a really wholesome tone. Cannot believe it's been 9 years since its release, and only just coming onto my radar now. It's so different from anything I've seen.The voice acting is brilliant and the dialogue is genuinely hilarious. Johnny Depp is a scream. Bill Nighy is great. Isla Fischer is great. Everyone is excellent.The production design/animation is off-the-charts incredible. I dropped my jaw multiple watching this film.
