I’m sitting here watching the part when the alien is mirroring Lindsey and Bud’s facial expressions and it is simply one of my favorite scenes in a film ever. I love that this movie has such an uplifting note to it unlike a lot of James Cameron’s other films. Plus, Ed Harris gives one of the best performances I’ve ever seen him give. The moment where he’s screaming at a dead Lindsey and beating on her chest gets me in the feels every time.Of course, when I’m taking about this film I mean the Director’s Cut. The substance is simply gone in the Theatrical Version. As a kid I still loved this movie but felt it was overall kinda passable. I saw the DC years later and it felt like a whole new film even though the majority of what was cut is seen at the end. Those scenes that were cut create a whole new experience.For those that haven’t seen it, do yourself a favor and watch the DC.
