I recently watched this movie and I think it is one of the best films I have seen. The way the shot's with the girl were composed with lots of light and mist streaming in contrasting to the shots with the adults were shot with very cold colors was amazing and I think there were a lot of themes about how we cope with tough situations and also themes about totalitarianism and obedience due to it being set after the Spanish civil war.
