It's no instant classic, but it serves its purpose, and quite well. Providing a spiritual sequel to a Kubrick movie while adapting a King book is no small task. Other than Ewan McGregor being not quite how i would imagine an older Danny to look, it was pretty spot on to how I pictured the book. The movie was a lot like how I felt about the book. Not really necessary, but serviceable, even enjoyable. Although Hallorann mentioning that KA is a wheel felt a little forced. I think the bar scene with Dan and his father's "spirit" could have been a little more potent aswell. All in all worth a watch. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3wJjsG9
