Mayor (2020) is one of the best movies out there for people struggling to empathize with what's going on in Palestine

"Mayor" is a doc focused on a kind-hearted, charismatic mayor (Musa Hadid) who's trying to run the local municipality in Ramallah to the best of his ability, in spite of being under Israeli occupation. The movie is unexpectedly funny and wholesome, but it also shows how uncertain and anxious life is in Palestine, especially if you're trying to run a functioning municipality. It was pretty eye-opening to see a Palestinian city that wasn't portrayed as some kind of warzone. Even in spite of war, destruction and persecution, a lot of honest people, like the Mayor, are just trying to make a good life for the community as they struggle with the realization that independence might still be a long way coming.Mayor is a really good movie, that unfortunately not been talked about enough but I think it really helps to build some perspective on Palestinian life. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3onLRgR
