So, I watched The Graduate for the first time last night. For almost the entire movie I genuinely believed that you were supposed to find Benjamin creepy, and over the course of the movie became increasingly bewildered that people kept forgiving him. It wasn't until the "driving off into the sunset" ending that I completely accepted that you were supposed to be rooting for Benjamin to end up with Elaine.There's a part halfway through the movie where he tells his parents he's going to marry Elaine after admitting that she "doesn't like him much." He then travels quite a while to go to her college, and the movie gives a montage of him watching her when she doesn't realize he's there. I swear, you could edit together a trailer for this movie that makes it look like it's in the style of Taxi Driver. via /r/movies http://bit.ly/2TFGDwe
