I’m trying to decide what it is about these two movies that I like so much, and what makes them so similar to me. Maybe the aliens-that-aren’t-evil thing? Possibly the existential dread of not know what exactly is happening? Annihilations ending had me almost literally sweating because I had no idea what was going on and the wonderfully unnerving soundtrack made it even more impactful.
