Blade Runner 2049 is a damn masterpiece and it's a shame that more people haven't seen or even heard about the movie.

I was so incredibly surprised while watching this movie how good it is. Since it's release, I had never heard anything good or bad about the movie. I have become a very big fan of science fiction and have been working though some movies and naturally wanted to watch the original blade runner which was fantastic. BR 2049 was fantastic in its own right and a modern masterpiece in my opinion. I cannot believe how little fanfare surrounds this movie for how good it is. Quite baffling.The world building is fantastic and believable. The themes are complex and thoroughly explored. The plot is engaging and exciting. The pacing is slow and definitely redundant but I did deal that the pacing was deliberate and payed homage to the original. And my god the cinematography. Definitely deserving of the academy award and probably makes my top 5 list of greatest cinematography ever. I doubt this movie will have as large of an impact on cinema and art as the original but it should be viewed as textbook example of how to improve upon the plots and themes of an original movie in a sequel. It is constantly paying homage and replicating the originals themes and style while creating an original engaging story itself, and because I have rarely seen it done better, this movie is a masterpiece in my opinion. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3E3Dnmx
