I heard people mention this film over the years but never got around to it. I thought it was gonna be a standard police film, but it is much more than that. Denzel Washington was magnetic as Alonso and probably one of the most fearless badasses in movies, without a doubt. His planning and intelligence was Joker levels and almost got away with it.The scene when they Alonso, his teammates and Jake went to Rogers house is the best scene for me. His plan to protect himself and frame Jake was pretty evil and brilliant.Having seen Sicario a few years ago, and having watched Nolan's 'Insomnia' earlier this year, Training Day is quite similar to those two in many ways. Good guys potentially becoming the bad guys has always been interesting.Everything about Training Day works cause it's so immersive. The story, choreography, music and action were all so cohesive and well done. The ending was excellent and a fitting to an end of a long, deadly day.I'd rate this movie 8/10. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2T5IHCI
