Peter Jackson's last movie before the lord of the rings trilogy, The frighteners (1996) may be my favourite from the director.

I don't really see this movie talked about very often. Michael J Fox is great and does something we haven't really seen him do before, playing a social outcast suspected of murdering his wife. Full of great, memorable characters with pretty great visual effects. Love the story, setting, set design and especially the score from Danny Elfman.
