We mods are in this subreddit daily and know the users feel like the same movies are talked about way too often. The most popular movies on Reddit are certainly some great ones, but every week we're going to recommend what we think are good movies and aren't discussed much in this subreddit. These recommendations aren't all pretentious film school meditations on human verisimilitude, we swear they're watchable :)March 2, 2021 is Wonder Boys - 2000Curtis Hanson wrote the adaptation and directed L.A. Confidential, winning him an Oscar for writing. Five years later he directed Eminem in the Oscar-winning movie 8 Mile. 14 years prior, he directed Rorshach in a movie about going to Mexico and losing his virginity. But - in between L.A. Confidential and 8 Mile, he made another movie, one that doesn't get enough attention in my humble opinion.Wonder Boys is was written by the guy who later wrote all of the Harry Potter films, and based on a novel by Michael Chabon. It's mostly about one weekend in the life of a literary professor, and navigating his relationships, his students, and in the insanity of his publisher.Like most of the movies I recommend, I can't find a good trailer link. This one is ridiculous with its reviews.. Maybe just watch this scene and get its vibe.Ant-Man, Spider-Man, and Iron Man run around with Tom Cruise's wife and Marge Gunderson. It's drenched in writing themes and the book world, it's funny, and Michael Douglas is awesome.Where you can watch it online - Amazon Prime and Hulu currently have it.Please use spoiler tags in the discussion below, as this is a recommendation thread for people who haven't seen the movie yet. If you have a suggestion for a future recommendation, please post here with it!The MovieModsRecommend Archive via /r/movies https://ift.tt/382q47I
