Gerard Butler is legitimately a phenomenal actor when he's not asked to attempt an American accent.

In Greenland, Butler keeps his Scottish accent and doesn't even attempt to try an American one, and his performance is all the better for it. It's basically a meme at this point but he has historically not been great at dropping the accent and trying to sound "American".In Greenland he really shines as a result. Just a grizzled dude who happens to have a Scottish accent trying to save his family. I'll admit that historically I have been unsure of his talent, but it's clear to me now that he does actually have "the stuff" even if his role selection should limited. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3biXp03
