I am a huge adventure movies fan. I really don't understand why there aren't more adventure movies made today. Arguably many movies have "adventure" elements in them. Im thinking: Blade Runner 2049, Interstellar, Prospect, Jumanji (newer ones), etc.BUT, there are seemingly a shortage of "pure" adventure movies. Think: The Mummy, Indiana Jones, LOTR, POTC (1-3), Princess Bride, etc.I'm curious why that is? Am I just missing something? Are good adventure movies being made but that are flying under the radar? Perhaps foreign filmmakers are making good adventure movies that should be more popular? There are 2 purposes to this post.To spur discussion on the current status of adventure movies in the film industry & to suggest why there are seemingly a trend away from adventure films. To recommend any modern adventure films that may be underrated or less known. Thanks for any input!**PS. I am not claiming to be an expert on adventure films by any stretch. I am just a casual fan who cares greatly about this genre. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3a4dSRY
