'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' may be one of the best Bond films.

“On Her Majesty's Secret Service” has depth, character, a great cast, a strong story, and overwhelmingly one of the best and most realistic bond girls. Filmed in 1969 with the second bond George Lazenby the youngest and the only non British actor (Australian). The film's direction and score kept me entertained through out the entire film. The action sequences were fun to watch and very realistic. It was really one of the better Bond films and still holds up today. There are several reasons why I think this film deserves to be in the top 3 Bond films.George Lazenby played his own Bond, he copied Sean Connery to a degree but found his way into a more gritty role. Not only was his first major film but strangely enough his acting ability got better as the movie progressed. If you ever want to see a film where an actor gets better at acting during the movie, this is it. It was so strange to see him go from the first scene on the beach thinking to myself, oh no this is a terrible bond and he can't act to the very end and thinking wow he may be one the best Bond actors. He was believable and fun to watch. The Bond girl Diana Rigg- Queen of thorns on GOT is by far without a doubt the best Bond girl. She can act. Her character is realistic and strong. She may be one of the best examples of a strong female character without being totally in your face about it. She can carry a scene and act like a girl in love but also be strong at the same time. She is difficult to describe just imagine Queen of Thorns way younger and in a bond film, practically the same thing. BADASS.Villain - Blofeld (Terry Savalas), a fantastic actor who is believable and not over the top. He doesn't come off as a mastermind or psychotic. He plays his role very well even if he does have a cat and was the total inspiration for Austin Powers. The Screen Writer and Director, and the composer (John Barry) follow the book and blend it well with the script. They keep the action fast paced with great dialogue and music. The action sequences are fantastic with a great soundtrack for that era and are still fun to watch. James Bond's fight scenes are realistic and feel heavy compared to Daniel Craig's easy mode in Call of Duty.Emotional depth. I won't give anything away but this is the first time i felt for a James Bond Character and the people around James Bond. Most of the time I don't really care who lives or dies in the Bond films but this time I was on edge. (Except 006, poor Sean Bean). So if you are looking for a film to watch during the quarantine, watch On Her Majesty's Service, it will keep you wanting more and yet leave you a bit sad that this was the only Bond film done by George Lazenby. If you think I should add more reasons or disagree comment away. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3e0AxSe
