What comes to mind the most is Spielberg movies. Rewatching most of his classics brings me a sense of joy, awe, mystery, and wonder that I don’t necessarily get from movies today. I admire most of the films in the 80s and early 90s that had practical effects with beautiful backdrops that made it feel like i am watching a theater play like The Princess Bride, The Never Ending Story, ET or Jurassic Park.CGI films today just take me out of the fantasy world that it was supposed to suck me into and makes me realize “oh yeah, it’s all fake and computer generated”.On I’m going to go off topic here but it’s hard for me to enjoy movies these days that are all either feel good or super hero which is why I don’t enjoy the Marvel movies and enjoy the darker tones of Dark Knight and Man of Steel. Heck, I enjoyed Infinity War because some super heroes died and wasn’t the typical happy ending. If possible, it would be great to see studios taking new chances on different genres and riskier films and bring it direct to home especially during this time we are all at home due to the Coronavirus. Is it me or do you guys miss these old mysterious fog like non-cgi movies as well? via /r/movies https://ift.tt/34pXKsR

» I miss the way movies in the 80s and 90s has this mysterious atmosphere with fog everywhere. I also miss how adventurous the movies were combined with practical effects.
