Gross Pointe Blank has become a nostalgic nostalgia film. And I still love it.

HBO, through its various access points has added Gross Pointe Blank added to their roster. I’ve loved this movie since it came out. I’m a child of the 80’s, came of age in the 90’s and its always been one of my go to films. The writing is tight and funny, yet poignant. It harkens back to a 1980s nostalgia with the two tone music from the late 70’s and early 80’s that doesn’t exploit the typical Steven Spielberg, D&D, Stranger Things , nerdy 80’s style that’s so popular now.The ensemble cast is great. John Cusack is at his peak. His sister Joan is hilarious in the few scenes she has. Dan Aykroyd is a strangely brilliant psychopath. Jeremy Piven, Minnie Driver, Hank Azaria and Alan Arkin are all perfectly cast. There are so many great scenes m, moments and memorable lines. While we’re all in lockdown and if you have access through Hulu, HBOgo or whatever, check it out or if you’ve seen it, check it out again. It’s really good and I can’t stress enough how great the soundtrack is. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2y2ignh
