"Jay and Silent Bob Reboot" was actually... good?

This film is so dumb, and so funny. I could talk for hours about how meta it is, seriously, at one point it gets to like 4 layers of meta and its so damn funny, or the amount of cameos, the good cinematography, the bad cuts, the switch of emotions, the lack of seriousness this film has, the gratuitousness, the callbacks, the amount of weight it all has.But screw all that. This film has heart.I love SOME of Kevin Smith's films. Clerks and Clerks 2 are my favorites, but the big problems with all of them seems that there's a lack of emotion. There is usually an arc for characters, the film moves, but something is always missing.Reboot brought that. Two times I teared up, the writing and acting just crushed it. Since Clerks, Smith actually had something to say, and he brought it. It was fucking emotional.Last note: Smith cast his daughter, Harley Quinn (yes, that's her name), as one of the main characters. Yes, nepotism. But she was the best actress in the film. She's a legit good actor and I wanna see what she does next. She brought the emotion, and feels. She made me tear up twice and it was beautiful.Good movie. Watch it for the cameos (there are hundreds of em), or the callbacks to his other movies (again, hundreds), characters (callsbacks to the nth degree), for the story (there is one!), but stay for the emotion.Edit: Also, Ben Affleck's cameo broke my heart in the best way. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2vwEyN3
