Adrien Brody's performance in The Pianist is the greatest "best actor" performance I have ever seen.

Roman Polanski's crimes aside, The Pianist is a hell of a film. However, the real strength of the film is Adrien Brody. There's not a single frame where his performance is wasted. Easily the most heartbreaking and relateable performance I've seen from any best actor Oscar winner. I'm not a jew nor did I survive WW2 Warsaw, but its through the strength of his acting that I actually feel what it may have been like in his situation. The shot of him sobbing in the streets after he is rescued while his family is being deported is forever burned into my brain.I don't dare to say that it's the greatest acting performance overall because I havent even come close to seeing all films but I have seen the majority of best actor films and his performance still reigns supreme in my mind compared to all others. What's your favorite best actor performance? via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2TW0f1e
