I just got a 77” LG OLED C9 and a 4k Blu-ray player.... my god. I feel like I can’t go to the theater anymore. The picture quality for some of these 4K releases is just unreal. Karate Kid, and Blade Runner just blew me away with such vibrant colors, resolution, and pleasant film grain. If you’re a film buff, and getting 35mm prints is out of your price range or personal practicality, this has got to be the next best thing, and even in some ways, superior. The perfect blacks, the HDR, I was watching Lost World and both my wife and I were holding back giggles at the sight of seriously bright flashlights piercing the dark scenes, or police lights flashing and lighting up our entire living room.Sorry, just had to share this with someone. If you’re looking for a new TV, and maybe you’re like me, you’ve been clutching your perfectly broken in, perfectly calibrated plasma for almost a decade, just trust me - that thing is painfully outdated compared to these new OLED TVs.I feel like I’m falling in love with cinema all over again. So much detail I never noticed... like how much of Batman was animated or miniatures! via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2EL4K7G

» I’ve watched Batman (1989) probably 50+ times, between VHS TV copies, DVD, digital streams and Blu-ray. Watching the new 4K Blu-ray was like seeing it for the first time.
