In today's trend of most people going to the movies only for big spectacle movies and franchise films, it was really refreshing to see The Farewell. It's an original story about a subject that isn't covered much anymore: family. However, it's not explored in the typical way at all. It's mixed with clashing cultures (Chinese and American), a strong ensemble cast, and a perfect mix of humor and dramatic themes. This obviously isn't what is 'in' right now, but it has a timelessness to it that I think will give it staying power longer than many CGI-based movies. All the sets are humble, since it's about a family that isnt exactly rich, and it results in a very relatable feel throughout. If you like being moved by the movies, this is a must-see for you. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2YUGwnG
