I did some math for Aladdin 2019's US Box Office sales...

So I just found out today that the new Aladdin came out 2 weeks ago, and I went online to see how it was doing. I found some articles saying that this new one had already made more money than the original. That didn't look quite right to me, and I had nothing to do, so I did some research to see if that's accurate.Step 1: I got US domestic box office info from boxofficemojo.com. Aladdin 2019 has made about **$263 million** so far domestically, and Aladdin 1992 made **$217 million** domestically.Step 2: I used this inflation calculator to find out how much Aladdin 1992 made domestically in today's money. The amount I got was **$396,733,088**. Already, this is a lot more more than the remake has made domestically.Step 3: I wanted to compare the number of tickets sold for each movie, so I went to the National Association of Theater Owners' website to find the average US ticket prices for 2019 and 1992. They only had info up to 2018, so I used that. 2018's avg. price was **$9.11** and 1992's was **$4.11**.Step 4: I took each movie's box office gross and divided them by their respective year's ticket price. I found that Aladdin 2019 sold about **29 million** tickets; and that Aladdin 1992 sold about **52 million tickets**.** TL;DR **: Adjusting for inflation, the Aladdin remake has made over **$100 million** less than the original so far in the US; and has sold **3/5 of the tickets** of the original domestically.Edit: I couldn't get links to work right, so here are the sites I used.- Box office info: boxofficemojo.com- Ticket prices per year: http://bit.ly/2Ikw8vR Inflation calculator: http://bit.ly/2OVBEq4 via /r/movies http://bit.ly/2IKqpyc
