Kathryn Bigelow's "Strange Days" is one of the best sci-fi action movies you'll ever see featuring Ralph Fiennes playing against type and Angela Bassett kicking ass

I'm always surprised at the number of people who saw Strange Days because that was a movie that got lost in the shuffle in the 90s, nobody saw it, but apparently it found an audience in home video and developed a cult following.Bigelow is one of the best directors when it comes to style, her movies have a unique look to it and Strange Days is very much techno-noir, but at the same time it has a social commentary which is very current to today's world with police violence, corruption and racism.Fiennes is effective as Lenny Nero, a man obsessed with his ex, Faith (Juliette Lewis, doing her vapid baby doll act), who gets caught in a dangerous situation but Angela Bassett steals the movie as Mace, a badass African-Woman who beats up bad guys and protects Lenny from evil cops, crazed punk junkies and psychotic drag queens. The whole movie is an acid trip. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2X99VtI
