You’ve got the the ebullient and thrilling James Horner who covered a lot of 90s films: Titanic and Jumanji. His soundtrack is perfect for the film very much a signature for Zorro. Antonio Banderas has the best Spanish accent in Hollywood and was born to play Zorro. Anthony Hopkins was a fantastic mentor and veteran Zorro. The sword fights are fantastic, especially since they stuck to one single wide angle instead of 9 multiple angles. I thought Catherine Zeta Jones was Spanish as a kid. Nope she’s Welsh, she’s just a great actress. I love the history they cover and the fact that there are two villains and two hero’s. Plus the stunts in this film are unreal, some of the best stunt work in Hollywood films. It’s not often you get stories covering the Mexico-American war in the early 1800s from the point of view of early California. I haven’t seen the second one but they could totally do another film with Antonio handing the mask to another. I will never tire of The Mask of Zorro.Plus, at one point they show a very famous 90s Mexican wrestler in a fight scene with Zorro. Not often you get a 7ft 6 dude on screen. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/Z7SQ5H1
