Yes, everyone HATES talkers in theaters... but have you ever had someone say something that made the whole audience laugh?

I was just thinking about this Thursday after leaving Thor. There was a scene towards the end where yet again they ruined a sentimental, dramatic moment by finishing it with a "cute" joke and this guy behind me just said kinda under his breath "oh jesus christ..."The way he said it and the timing with the silence that immediately followed the scene was just pretty comical. Not a lot of people in the theater heard it but those of us around all got a good chuckle outta it...and it reminded me of when I saw the last LOTR in theaters 20 years ago... sold out theater... and you know how the movie kinda feels like it's about to end but then just goes to another scene? And it does that like 6 times? The fifth "this is the end, right?' scene wrapped, everyone feels ecstatic, we all just witnessed an epic ending to an epic trilogy... but it transitions to another scene (back at the Shire) and it's silent for juuust enough time and this guy in the theater lets out, in a whimpery tone, "...oh no..." and the whole audience just burst out laughing. The timing and manner in which he said it was just hilarious. You could feel the sadness in his quivering voice with it. And you can tell he didn't really mean to blurt it out as loudly as he did. I don't think he was expecting the split-second silence on screen to where it would echo.Anyone else have any stories like that? via /r/movies https://ift.tt/YgbjHP2
