I remember loving this movie as a child, and thematically it hasn't lost any of its magic. This film was one of the few that really took science fiction to tell a "human" story, and where the outerworld was just a setting. I also loved the midway twist (which I won't spoil if you haven't seen the movie) and gave the last act a completely new dimension. I also think it's one of Dennis Quaid's best performances. The film definitely holds well still, but realistically it's aged quite a lot and isn't really top of mind. I think they could make a brilliant remake nowadays (and maybe take a Black actor as the lead, not the alien this time). via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3FLJKf4
