Dante's Peak was a trip down memory lane, and got me in the mood for some 90s disaster movies.

Dante's Peak was one of my favorite movies growing up, even though it absolutely terrified me (I think I was maybe 8 or 9 when I watched it). I vaguely remember having to close my eyes during the hot spring scene because it scared me so much.I recently rewatched it again tonight, (it's on sale right now on the windows store, as well as streaming on HBO Max) and I think it really holds up. I was VERY surprised at how well all the special effects hold up after 24 years. When I was watching the scene where they have to cross the flooded bridge, I was astounded at how real it looked and was wanting to know how they did it. Spoiler: It was one of the largest miniature sets ever made for a film. I've always been a fan of miniatures used in movies, and the ones they used in DI were so seamless it genuinely looked like reality. So yeah, now I'm in a big mood for some 90s disaster flicks. Another childhood favorite was Volcano staring Tommy Lee Jones, which I also haven't watched since I was a kid. We'll see how well that holds up as well :). via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3opUAkO
