I know the film you're immediately going to say, and I agree, Return of the King is a genuine masterpiece of grand-scale story telling as well as being able to conclude a series in the most logical and emotionally satisfying way.Personally, I don't think there aren't many trilogies where the third film is either considered the best, or considered on-par with the original. However, trilogies that I consider to have a really solid third film are:Return of the King (obviously)John Wick 3Toy Story 3 (I know there's a fourth movie but still, TS3 is would've been a great ending and it's a really solid entry by itself)How to Train Your Dragon 3 (I know there's a lot of people who hate this but I personally love it and it remains my favorite films of all time)War for the Planet of the ApesCars 3 (I love the first Cars movie and it remains a staple of my childhood but somehow Cars 3 is actually really great imo)Anyway, let me know if there are any other trilogies that have really great third entries. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2YByoZZ
