I don't think it gets enough credit for being a positive movie.Dustin Hoffman's character is the ONLY asshole in the entire movie. Oliver Platt's critic is made to seem like one, but he explains very correctly that Favreau was stupid for trying to start a flame war with him. "I wouldn't challenge you to a cook-off."Both Faverau and Vergara play very loving parents. They don't fight in front of the kid. They don't try to screw each other over. They don't use the kid against the other. They're both supportive of each other.Leguizamo and all the Chef's friends and coworkers are supportive. Nobody is backstabbing anyone. The kid is bright, eager, and willing to learn. He isn't the same shitty whiney little asshole we seem to see in EVERY movie these days.I wish movies like this weren't such a rare thing. I'm tired of dysfunctional families. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3dWwFDC
