Original movies are less and less coming. Sequels and remakes of good movies aren't hits. So why not remake poorly-made movies into their true potentials?

The best example I can think of is the upcoming remake of Dune. The 1984 original did not receive warm reviews, but the anticipation behind the 2020 trailer is already building to be a better movie than its predecessor. Since original movies are falling flat, and remakes of childhood and highly-enjoyed movies aren't getting the profits they sought, why shouldn't Hollywood find more bygone era movies that deserve a second shot at success? The potential to revamp a classic would include input from original critics, current viewers, cast, professional commentators, and, perhaps even, the creator themselves. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3mmPvpU
