Behind Enemy Lines is a massively overlooked action film.

Always been a fan of this film and just gave it a rewatch. Loved it. Owen Wilson doesn't get the props he should as an action film star. Technically the film has some marvelous memorable shots; the push zoom when the soldier steps on the landmine, the shot of the sniper staring down the barrel of his scope, the one bit where Owen Wilsons character sneaks out the city and unmasks himself. The movie came out just before the CGI boom, most of the military equipment is legit and they had access to some great kit. Theme and setting wise it's as close as you're gonna get to a metal gear or CoD: modern warfare film. Also special mention to the bad guy, this memorable Niko Bellich Sniper dressed in a fake Adidas tracksuit, doesn't really do much but steals the scene multiple times. There is an air of US militarism propaganda to it, but I don't think it overwhelms or detracts from the story. Just think if anyone's looking for an old school action film definately give this a watch.Edit: just going to add the musical score is incredible and really hits home at certain scenes via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2RI63dV
