What's a movie trope that everyone thinks only happens in fiction but actually is pretty common in real life?

For example the "sarcastic comedic relief" in war movies/other kinds of disaster movie. I've heard that it's not uncommon to meet people like that during service, and they're actually useful because they ease everyone else's stress during tense/exhausting situations.What other tropes seem just fiction but they actually happen in the real world?EDIT: Also for example, hearing a noise in the middle of the night and just assuming it's the wind or your cat knocking over some stuff.
