I remember when I first saw some trailers for Overlord. It grabbed my attention and looked interesting despite looking like a WWII themed zombie movie. Then I heard more and more good reviews and ended up buying it when it was finally released on Blu-ray.It was good. More of a war movie with more horror elements near the end. The ever present deadline that loomed over their heads, good action sequences, interesting enough story. A lot of the story is learning a bit more about the soldiers so you generally care about them. Even the zombies weren’t exactly zombies they were just a lot harder to kill and increased aggression like a berserker unit. The behind the scenes feature even explained why their were a few black soldiers in the airborne infantry in this movie when segregation still existed in WWII. J.J. Abrams said that he loved Jovan Adepo’s audition and said “Well the Germans didn’t really have zombies in real life so we’ll just make an alternate history where segregation no longer existed in the armed forces in WWII” via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2YWwpgS
