When Split came out in 2017, it was marketed as a horror/suspense thriller and a grand showcase for James McAvoy. A low budget, self-financed film by Shyamalan, who had sort of fell off the wagon with his films up to that point. There was nothing in the marketing that gave off a scent of being related to Unbreakable, nor in the actual film itself until the end, bar one reference to a character leaving on a train and never returning. This gave the film a really unique twist. It also ended up marketing a film that was yet to be made; setting up for Glass in 2019.I've read that some reboots have done something similar. The 2011 The Thing reboot turned out to be a prequel, but it was already marketed as being 'The Thing' so I wouldn't compare it to this. The Good The Bad And The Ugly turned out to be a stealth prequel, rather than sequel, for the man with no name.Could this work again, without being seen as aping or ripping off Split/Unbreakable? What would you like to see it done with? via /r/movies http://bit.ly/2UShDHh

» Split (2017) is maybe the first example of an original 'stealth sequel'. Will this work ever again?
