I remember thinking it's crazy how much this sub loves a movie about a bear. Just some Disney looking knockoff I thought. But I watched it a few hours ago and I was just so wrong. Disney wishes it was Paddington.Which actually is something that makes me kind of confused, because I'm not really sure what Paddington is doing right over Disney. It feels like it's doing everything that Disney feel good movies do, but I actually like it? Whimsical characters and dialogue, colorful set pieces. I want to say cheesy situations too like when Paddington gets tied up and then shaves off the judge's hair before putting it back on with marmalade, but saying "cheesy" sounds mean. It's just delightful and fun. I normally don't like family films because I just think they're always too over-the-top and are gearing everything towards kids; I remember watching Christopher Robin earlier this year and feeling like the morals were just so hamfisted. But Paddington is just great, and I don't know how or why. This whole post is probably incomprehensible and I almost hate that I'm just feeding into the circlejerk but it honestly deserves it.If you need a movie to cheer you up, grab a couple friends and just have fun with this, jeez I can't wait for the third one now. via /r/movies http://bit.ly/2S4uKUl
