Just watched The Sound of Music, and afterwards went to reddit to read about it. Saw someone mention the searchlight scene at the end of the film as being unnecessarily tense and scary, and others mentioning they forgot about the back half of the film even existing.These kinds of scary scenes that take you out of the movies’ comfort zone are usually found in animated projects (looking at you, Don Bluth / Disney) but I’m also interested in live action examples.
