I watched 30 WW2 movies in a month. Here's how I ranked them, if anyone's interested

I didn't watch them in any particular order. Just watched a random one daily and gave it a score so I could create this list. For the most part I think modern WW2 movies really fall short. There are obviously some good ones, but some ones just aren't as visceral and emotional as Saving Private Ryan from 20+ years ago.1. Saving Private Ryan - 9.52. Inglorious Basterds - 9.53. Schindler's List - 9.54. The Pianist - 9.05. Fury - 9.06. Grave of the Fireflies - 9.07. Empire of the Sun - 9.08. Come and See - 9.09. Hacksaw Ridge - 8.510. The Dirty Dozen - 8.511. The Great Escape - 8.512. Son of Saul - 8.513. Bridge on the River Kwai - 8.014. Downfall - 8.015. Casablanca - 8.016. Thin Red Line - 8.017. Das Boot - 8.018. Enemy at the Gates - 7.519. Valkyrie - 7.520. Letters from Iwo Jima - 7.521. The Big Red One - 7.522. Play Dirty - 7.023. Kelly's Heroes - 7.024. The Dirty Dozen: The Next Mission - 6.525. Midway - 6.026. Pearl Harbor - 6.027. The Monuments Men - 6.028. Dunkirk - 5.529. Flags of our Fathers - 5.030. Escape to Victory - 4.0As far as mini series goes, I went withBoB - 10 The Pacific - 9.5BoB in my eyes is flawless, but it isn't a movie so wasn't included. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3HNEJmr
