Any fans of Man on Fire (2004) with Denzel Washington, Dakota Fanning & Christopher Walken What did you think of this film?

I always found this to be one of Denzel's very best performances hands down & my favorite Radha Mitchell performance until Silent Hill (2006) came along hehe, but it's still up there. This is easily one of my favorite films from the late great Tony Scott, whose films I've always enjoyed. This film was just brutal, intense, heartbreaking & tragic with solid performances all around, a great soundtrack, a great ending & some nice twists and turns throughout the film. And on top of that, Man on Fire (2004) had such a great cast: Denzel, Christopher Walken, Dakota Fanning, Mickey Rourke, Marc Anthony, Radha Mitchell, Rachel Ticotin, Giancarlo Giannini etc. What did you think of this film & the performances in it? Did the ending surprise you? What did you think of the twists & turns in the film? Most of the people that I've seen talk about the film all mention how they were in tears by the end of the film, even friends of mine that I showed the film to were emotional by the end. And I honestly remember thinking then that this film was gonna be an Oscar contender with Denzel, Dakota, Walken, maybe even Radha getting some Oscar noms but 2004 was already a tough year to choose from films-wise & performances-wise. Did you think any of the performances in the film were Oscar worthy or that film was worthy of a Best Picture nomination when it came out? And how do you compare it to the 1980 novel from A.J. Quinnell & the 1987 film with Scott Glenn, Joe Pesci, Danny Aiello & Jonathan Pryce? Did you prefer this film to that version, did you prefer that film to this version or did you prefer the novel over both? via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3F9p6Eo
