Hello,so i recently got into the cosmic horror genre after i decided to watch John Carpenters "the thing".In these kind of movies i firmly enjoy the mysterious aspects. Protagonists having to deal with something totally unknown to them, something which scares them and me equally but not with cheap jumpscares or gore(although that is a part of it too), just with not knowing what to expect from the situation. Furthermore are the gritty and dark aspects of these movies really interesting aswell and seeing the maincharacters suffering not only physically but also mentally gives the surrealness of these movie a realistic aspect, which just makes me question myself "what would i do in this situation". After watching 2007s "the mist" and also recently "Event Horizon", i just want to see more of these movies, which is why i make this post here.Now i know that there are of course lists out there which give me infos about probably good movies, but i just feel like that the individual users impression here, especially knowing what aspects i enjoy about these movies, will give me much more accurate considerations than sides like IMDB, especially considering that many of these movies don't really get favourable reviews it seems.So which great Cosmic Horror movies could you recommend to me to watch?
