These two movies have always resonated with me so much.The dedication for the craft borders on complete self-sacrifice in The Prestige, and self-destruction in Whiplash.They are not ‘inspirational’ movies with a naive sentiment like “You can do it if you believe.” They do not negate the ambitious characters either.
