The dinner table scene in Signs (2002) where the whole family breaks down crying is so real it's uncomfortable to watch

Douchebag that he is in real life, Mel Gibson acted his ass off in this scene. They (Mel Gibson, Joaquin Phoenix, Rory Culkin, Abigail Breslin) portray an enormous range of emotion in what ends up being only three minutes of screentime. It goes from a celebratory atmosphere ('we'll make individual dinners for everyone, whatever you want!') to meloncholic, to angry and uncomfirtable, to the family reuniting and weeping together. It choked me up the first time I watched it and it has the same effect nearly 20 years later. If you have a chance, check it out.https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=d2NrnvGpnwA via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3DRPBOp
