My Year 9 students (aged 14-15) are looking at what characteristics make a hero and a villain. I want them to see that heroes are not just superheroes and that sometimes the line between Hero and villain can be blurred. While it seems like the easy route to choose a Marvel film to demonstrate this, I'd really like to push their perceptions a little beyond the black and white idea of heroes and villains. So I'm asking you your recommendations for films that have:A character that could be described as a hero but could be seen as or slides into being the villainClear, black and white examples of hero and villainSympathetic villainI have left out films where the protagonists are an archetype that would normally be considered villains such as many crime movies but I am still interested in anything suggestions you might have.Looking forward to seeing the discussion!Edit: i should have mentioned i'm in Melbourne, Australia and we're still teaching remotely for a few more weeks at least!Edit2: Also, I am blown away by the response to this question. I am currently in classes for the day so I will try to respond to as many of you as I can tonight via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3mpnaQM
