Deniro's acting is on another level in Taxi Driver (1976)

I watched the movie recently for the first time and went into it knowing absolutely nothing. In the beginning Travis Bickle just looks so sickly and you realise something is off with him but it's so hard to put your finger on it. He's seems a little unhinged but it's subtle enough to make you second guess yourself. He's keeping it together (just barely) but the more you watch him the more you see him stick out from the other characters. He has that vacant night shift gaze and checked out expression, but he's also likeable to the point where he doesn't make you feel too uneasy. It's totally believable that he can function around other people for short periods as a passable human. It's just amazing how he portrays this depth without ever going too far. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2ZH9qZL
