Jumanji (1995): The ending casually created one of the most powerful people in the world (Bonnie Hunt’s character)

Jumanji began with a young boy and girl finding and starting to play a magical board game in 1969. After messing up the rules, the boy is sucked into the game and has to live in the jungle. Flash forward 26 years, two new kids find and start playing the game, bringing the original boy back (As Robin Williams) and they go find the now grown girl (Bonnie Hunt) in order to finish the game.Well, once the game ends, Williams and Hunt’s characters are suddenly kids again and we again go back 26 years. The two main kids from the future are not even close to being born. Now, relating to my title, Hunt and Williams’ characters do NOT lose their memory.Meaning, this board game just suddenly altered time and turned these two into full on time travelers. While Robin Williams spent the 26 years in the jungle and doesn’t know much, child Bonnie Hunt now has the full knowledge of everything that happens from 1969 to 1995.As extremely important and formative years for the United States, this young girl has the power to not only accurately predict all major political, social, and economic events, but also would have the power to alter the future, opening up a whole different discussion. While the final scene does end with yet another flash forward to 1995 and the movie does not imply that any serious consequences of this occurred, it does not change the fact that for 26 years, Bonnie Hunt’s character was arguably the most powerful person in the world. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3AJFLMW
