I swear as somebody who considers himself a movie buff, I have so many great movies that I shamefully haven't watched yet. Until yesterday this was one of them. Popped in the Blu Ray last night and I have to say... this movie is amazing. I don't know why it's not as well-known as it should be.Whether you identify with parts of Douglas' Foster character, or you identify with Robert Duvall that you either sink or swim in this world, this movie clicks. 27 years later and the social and economic commentary still stands and is (in some ways) more true than ever.Great performances from the always-great Duvall and Douglas. Nice supporting cast. The pacing keeps you on the edge waiting for what comes next. As a Los Angeles native, love the locales and cinematography. I also love how the movie doesn't try to paint Michael Douglas as an all-out bad guy or good guy... He's a damaged, broken man who once had something to keep him grounded and surviving but it was taken from him... You either identify with that or not, but this movie was powerful.Who else is a fan of this movie? via /r/movies https://ift.tt/39qBrGf
