"The Secret of NIMH": An 80s Animated classic from the inventive mind of Don Bluth. Pity such potential didn't lead to more films of the same quality.

We got cheese fests An American Tail and All Dogs Go to Heaven instead. The Secret of NIMH was a rare combination of a children's animated movie mixed with the seriousness of a somber, chilling story. It's one of the few American Animated movies which best captures Japanese Animation in its narrative tone.I'm actually amazed a movie like Secret of NIMH got made in the early 80s but credit goes to Bluth for leaving Disney when they were making puerile shit like The Fox and the Hound and going on his own and it paid off. NIMH did modestly well and his company had more hits with Tail, Dogs, The Land Before Time (the only tolerable film he made after NIMH). via /r/movies https://ift.tt/37DDO7F
