How did they make the vocals for the monster in The Thing 1982?

I saw the movie this Halloween and I admit I may have become a bit obsessed with this movie, from watching theory videos on it to rewatching it, to checking out the people involved in it, to endlessly talking about it to my BF.But the one thing that still eludes me, even though I have a passing interest in sound design, is how they made those moans for the thing whenever it was caught and set on fire. I've been looking it up and the only article I could found doesn't seem very verifiable, since it only has 1 sentence.Has anyone involved in making the movie ever elaborated on the sound design for it that I just missed? via /r/movies https://ift.tt/38rJROG
