The movies that are currently shelved or filming obviously don't have any of that in them. I imagine that the story of Mission Impossible 7 still takes place in a world where COVID never happened. On the other end of the spectrum, there will be some films "about" the pandemic, where it's one of the central elements of their story. But what about "regular" films in the near future? How soon do you think the writers and directors will start acknowledging the "new reality" in small details in the film, whatever that new reality will be? Similar to how most movies that are set in "modern real life" low-key acknowledge that World War 2 happened – even if the plot isn't about WW2, characters can casually walk past a monument dedicated to it, the story of some old family heirloom might be tied to WW2, etc. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3nmyI6V
