"Labyrinth" was a Jim Henson-fantasy worth watching over and over again. Eerie, dreamy with an edge and David Bowie as the Goblin King being the cherry on top.

The NeverEnding Story and Labyrinth were my favorite fantasy movies growing up. There was Legend as well but Tim Curry and the odd looking dwarf scared me. The NeverEnding Story and Labyrinth were more age appropriate but still edgy for my child self.Labyrinth, I saw for the first time when I was too sick to go to school. and the first image of Jennifer Connelly in a dowdy white dress doing a monologue stood out to me and from then on, the story became more otherworldly and engaging and thrilling. David Bowie as the Goblin King was a standout, a villainous ruler whom you're intimidated by but at the same time, strangely drawn to. The ballroom sequence was a wonderful moment where Connelly's Sarah is tempted by this strange being. You almost wish she stayed with the Goblin King. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/353U4h1
